a few thoughts about a little faith

Hi there!

My name’s Savannah, and I’m just a Christian (read: sinner) who’s interested in learning more about God and sharing my faith.

I’m a writer by trade, a lifelong student, and an avid reader and baker. I started this site to share my thoughts on topics, struggles, and questions Christians often face today… and, if I’m being honest, to force myself to put my work out there.

I hope my posts will help and inspire the people kind enough to visit this site. My only goal is to share my faith with others and hopefully bring a little more light into the world.

Thanks for stopping by.

What’s with the name?

I decided to call this project “just a mustard seed” because of what Jesus says about our faith in Matthew 17:20:

“…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Most days, my faith truly does feel as small as a mustard seed. But God can do amazing things even with the little I often bring to the table. It’s a beautiful reminder, in the messiness and chaos of daily life, that we don’t have to be “enough” because He always is.

  • Blog

This is where you'll find my posts about, well, pretty much everything. Devotionals, poems, scripture and song breakdowns, random musings — it all lives here!

  • The Why

Whether you've never heard the name of Jesus, you're a lifelong Christ-follower, or fall somewhere in between, it's vital to know where our story starts and Who it started with. On this page, you'll find my personal explanation of God's redeeming love and how it’s changed my life forever.

  • About Me

This site and my work isn’t about me — it’s about encouraging others and pursuing my passions. But I guess I shouldn’t be a total stranger, so here’s a little bit about me and how I got here.

God has given all of us — you, me, and every person who has ever lived — gifts, talents, and passions that we’re meant to share with the world in order to show His glory and bless others.

These gifts can take the form of hobbies, habits, talents, and even your job or a certain field of interest. Maybe you’ve always been great at sports, or spend your free time crocheting. Perhaps teaching and instructing others comes naturally, or you’re the peacemaker in your friend group. No matter your gifts, you can use them to serve others in so many ways!

This site is my way of using my gift and passion — writing — to do just that.

What has God given you that you can use to bless others in your everyday life?
