ἀγάπη

There is no one ever born
who will love me like God.
No one who will suffer as He did
for someone as wretched as me.

He is the only one
who held my soul in His hands,
breathed His own breath into me,
knew me when I was just
a clump of cells, a bit of tissue
with the tiny drum of Creation
thrumming in my chest.

There is no one ever born
who deserves my love, my life,
like God does.
He’s not like other so-called gods.
He is personal.
He is real.
He is kind.

We are nothing
next to His glory,
but worth dying for
in His eyes.

What love!
What love!

So I say to the world,
share my tears,
feel your heart burst.

Come and see.
Come and see.
